Swimming Adventures

We made it through another day of swimming lessons. The kids found a puddle to play in, which kept them entertained for most of Emily's lesson.

We brought Zach's box of cars and trucks and the kids had fun pushing them through the puddle and I would have been content to let them do it through Eleanor's lesson as well, but then Kate decided it would be more fun to throw the cars into the pool. So the cars and trucks had to be put away and we went out onto the grass. We stayed on the grass through most of Eleanor's lesson, but Zoe was pretty tired of getting Kate off the stairs to the pool and bringing her back on the grass, so that's not a good place for us to hang out either. So, we learned today that no toys can be brought to the pool that Kate can throw into the pool, and I can't sit on the grass and watch Eleanor swim and keep up with Kate at the same time.

Somehow, I managed to get some pictures of Emily and Eleanor swimming.

The girl behind Eleanor in this next picture is one of Eleanor's new friends that she met at the park several weeks ago, saw at Kindergarten screening, and they are now in the same swim class.

We went to the pool this evening as a family and had a fun time. It was the first time that Matt has joined us at the pool and it was nice having him there. Even with both of us there, Zach needed to be rescued as he started to get into water that was over his head. Eleanor's swim teacher, Jen (who is pictured below with Eleanor) saw him and got into the water to get him. Every summer, one of our kids gets saved by a lifeguard. So hopefully this evening was our one time for this summer!

You are probably more tired than the kids after those trips to the pool!

Zoe looks so tall in that picture with the puddle, wow. That's a great dive by Emily, it seems like it is so hard to learn to dive instead of jump! It looks like a very sunny day, & very fun!

Just catching myself up on your life! I can't wait for the announcement that the baby is here. The last couple of weeks was always the hardest because I was sooooooo ready to be done!

I love the pictures of the swimming lessons. I have not been good at taking my kids to swimming lessons, probably for the reason that it was always a challenge to keep the ones NOT swimming occupied. And with a new baby to boot...good luck to you!

Your kids look like they have so much fun swimming!

I loved the conversation you had about dating. I love when they bring up subjects informally like that. It gives you a chance to sneak in little lessons without them feeling like they're actually being taught!

I'm glad Zach is ok-that is so scary, I hate water related kid-problems.

great dive Emily!
