Experiencing Tradition

It was fun to be a part of the Erickson 4th of July breakfast this year! Here are some of the kids waiting to eat all the yummy food Grandma & Grandpa prepared.

Here is Grandpa cooking his famous and yummy sour dough pancakes.

Zach & Nicolette looked so cute having this conversation together. We have no idea what the conversation was about, but it was so cute to see them drinking their orange juice together and talking like grown ups.
Many of us went over to the Trump pool after breafast. My girls are learning how to do somersaults off the diving board. Noah watched Zoe do a somersault and then he said, "Oh my gosh!" It was so cute. Here is Eleanor starting her somersault.

My kids enjoyed some down time after swimming and eating a late lunch/early dinner.

We watched the fireworks this evening. There was a magic show before the fireworks and then there was a band that played music until the fireworks. There was music playing during the fireworks, too which I really liked. While we listened to music, I watched Noah play on a playground and Matt bought the other kids tickets to go in the bounce house and to do some other fun attractions. The playground was super crazy with kids everywhere. Kate tried going down the slide before she went off with Matt and she got stuck between kids as they passed her to go on the slide. I had to send Emily to help Kate out because she wouldn't move forward toward the slide and she couldn't get back down. Noah didn't care if kids cut in front of him, but he didn't let too many pass before he pushed his way to the slide. It was not a playground experience for the timid. I watched Noah go down the slide over and over again. The only incident he had was when he barely got off the slide and an older kid flew down the slide and slammed into Noah, which threw Noah back onto the ground. The boy got a piece of my mind and he and his friends went to do something else for awhile. The first picture here shows the chaos of the slide with kids hanging out at the bottom of the slide and climbing up the slide while tons of kids are waiting to go down the slide, and the second picture is of Noah going down the slide for the first of many times.

The fireworks were awesome! Zoe watched them with Kerri, Sarah, & Lilli and then she went to Kerri's with them to spend the night.

After Matt & I packed up our chairs, I realized that Noah was missing. He was right where I figured he would be, though. He was back at the playground, which was right next to where we were sitting to watch the fireworks. Thank goodness he was there!
