Kate's 5th Birthday!

Kate received her first gift this morning when she was able to sleep until 8:30. I sent Zoe & Emily to school on the bus since Noah had been up all night with a stomach ache and diarrhea. I didn't want to take him away from the bathroom. Matt & I are wondering if his cup wasn't rinsed out well enough after one of the kids washed it. He had suspicious smelling gas all night. Eleanor stayed home because she was still recovering from being sick yesterday. Zach stayed home because he said his stomach hurt. So, the day wasn't too exciting for Kate until after Zoe & Emily got home from school.

I took Kate to get her ears pierced this afternoon!

Kate is a tough girl and I knew the pain of getting her ears pierced wouldn't bother her, and I was right. Usually, there are 2 people working so both ears can be pierced at the same time. This was not the case today. I told Kate that the lady would do one ear and then the other and Kate was fine with that. She was a perfect angel who didn't flinch or cry the entire time. She admitted that it hurt a little, but that was the end of it. She LOVES having earrings! Now when I take a picture of her, she wants me to do a close up of her, so she can see her earrings. :-)

We all ate dinner at McDonald's with my Mom.

Then it was finally time for presents! Lalaloopsy was the theme this year.

Kate has been waiting for this day to be able to pick out a balloon, flowers, and a cake!

Great Grammie made a hat, mittens, and scarf for Kate. :-)
$5 for being 5!

Kate had a fun 5th birthday celebration!
She is excited to start school in the Fall. Her older sisters think this is SILLY!
Have a fun year being 5 Kate! We love you!

Happy Birthday to Kate!! She looks so old in these pictures. It's hard to believe she is really 5.

I'm sorry to hear about the sickness going around... I'm so glad Kate was healthy and able to have a fun birthday! I hope everybody is all better very soon.

It is amazing how much she looks like Eleanor, and I bet she's super excited for school to start, What a brave girl, I was eight when I got mine pierced, I told Leah she has to wait until then. Happy Birthday Kate:)
