Zoe had her first track practice today. She tried some field events, such as the discus and the shot put. She also wants to try sprints and jumping events. Her first meet is on April 25th, so she has a few weeks to figure out what she wants to compete in. She does know that she doesn't want to run long distances!
The kids had fun this afternoon playing with their friends next door! They played outside for awhile and then they made their way into Jenn's house. Zach & Connor love to play video games together! They all colored paper Easter eggs that Jenn had made. It's funny that she got that idea from me because it hasn't crossed my mind this Easter season to do it. I'm glad we now have paper Easter eggs to decorate our house with. Thanks Jenn!
I've been reading quite a bit lately. I just finished one of my .99 cent books from Deseret Book called "Joy cometh in the morning...A story of healing from the loss of a child by Fran C. Hafen." I am always strengthened as I read about the faith and experiences of parents who have lost a child. I forget that my own parents went through a similar experience as the author when my older sister, Angela died soon after she was born. I felt closer to Angela as I read this book. I am convinced that we had a special bond before coming to earth and I look forward to our reunion! This book also gives advice for helping others as they grieve. I appreciated that.
