Conversations with Zoe

Yesterday Zoe tried to convince me that she was measured in school and she is 6'2".
Me: "Daddy's not even 6'2"."
Zoe: "Well I am."
Me: "No you're not...maybe it was 4'6"."
Zoe: "No I am 6'2"."
Me: "No you're not."
Zoe: "My teacher told me so."
Me: "Well she's wrong then."
Zoe "This is her JOB, she knows, you don't even have a JOB!" (She obviously didn't read my last post.)
Me: (pointing to Kate who I am holding) "You don't think this is a job?"
Zoe: "No, it's just...living."

So there you go Moms, we're just living!

This morning we woke up to a winter wonderland look again and it was snowing/raining lightly. Zoe comes into my room just beside herself...
"We have school today!"
Me: "Yay!"
Zoe: "Mom! You are such a meanie!" (As she is smiling)

That's me, living and mean :-) But at least I'm having good luck on this Friday the 13th...are you?

It's always comforting to run across other mean moms. My daughter is the same way when it comes to her teacher - her teacher knows all! Teachers everywhere, take note - your students think you can do NO wrong!

I can't believe how much snow you get! It's been windy & in the 60's here, so we think winter has returned!

Lexi is convinced that "they" are building a bridge from California to Hawaii. It's almost half done! She saw it on Yahoo! News (on April 1). I have absolutely no credibility compared to Yahoo! News, apparently.

I did, however, find on the Internet this true story of a bridge to Hawaii:

Bridge to Hawaii

A man walking along a California beach was deep in prayer. All of a sudden he said out loud, "Lord grant me one wish."

At once the sky clouded above his head and in a booming voice the Lord said, "Because you have TRIED to be faithful to me in all ways, I will grant you one wish"

The man said, "Build a bridge to Hawaii, so I can drive over anytime I want to."

The Lord said, "Your request is very materialistic. Think of the logistics of that kind of undertaking. The supports required to reach the bottom of the Pacific! The concrete and steel it would take! I can do it, but it is hard for me to justify your desire for worldly things. Take a little more time and think of another wish, a wish you think would honor and glorify me."

The man thought about it for a long time. Finally he said, "Lord, my wife says that I am uncaring and insensitive. I wish that I could understand women. I want to know how they feel inside, what they are thinking when they give me the silent treatment, why they cry, what they mean when they say "nothing", and how I can make a woman truly happy."

After a few minutes God said, "You want two lanes or four on that bridge?"

LOL! That is great! I love it. Thanks for the smile today.

I'm not even going to comment on my luck today because I fear if I do, the luck will go the other way. I can't afford that chance right now. ;-)

Too funny!! That's true about teachers and kids, though. Care Bear is always telling me what her teacher told her.

When I was teaching school I told the parents that I would believe half of what they told me happened at home if they would believe half of what they were told happened at school

Myshel is constantly amazed that I actually do know a few things. My kids don't think I work either. One day I'm not going to and we'll see what happens :}

no wonder....I didn't realize today was Friday....I knew it was the 13th...that explains everything! Kids are so funny...why will they believe anyone and everyone but their mother. I guess when we had children something happened in the delivery room, and we all became very stupid. I remember once having a discussion with Spencer about ducks not being able to fly. I saw one as we were driving to school....flying in the air...Spencer said....no that is not a duck mom.

As you can see from Lexi's comment...she is still not over the bridge thing. I am not sure about Doug's sexist story but, it is a bit funny. And, I can very much relate as last night Lilli was explaining how Dad is the smart one you want to help you with your homework and mom...well, she does lots of laundry! Oh the joys!
