The kids also unwrapped a bonus book from Grandma & Grandpa. When the 3 older girls saw the cover of the book, they got excited and all said they have heard the story and love it. It IS a great story...but we knew it would be because Grandma always picks out the best books! Thanks, Janet!

Two I don't have-thanks so much for the suggestions-I try to buy a couple of new books each season-I'll put these on my list for next year!

I read "December" by Eve Bunting to the kids and cried half way til the end. I love those "Mousekins" books, beautiful illustrations. My favorite one at home is "Twas the Night Before Christmas", I have a paperback 1950's version that I got from the library book sale. I have always been drawn to that magical poem. The kids favorite are the "Toot and Puddle" Christmas books.
How the Grinch Stole Christmas - always a classic. Of course, Mum and Dad started reading ... I think it's called The Fourth Wise Man a couple years ago to us. Mum always starts out but before the last chapter (it's really short, we read it in one night) she has to pass it to Dad, who can only read the first couple of paragraphs and then has to pass it on to one of us kids. Good grief. My parents are so weepy.
These both look like very good books...we are slacking this year in the Christmas reading. I can't get my little girls off of Junie B. Jones!! drives me crazy...
Okay, I have a cute one, Not so much a "spiritual book" as it is a super funny book. It's called How Murray Saved Christmas, I think. I laugh every time I read it!! I like that idea of opening a book, my kids love to read!
Definately "How The Grinch Stole Christmas". Also, I love "The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey", and every Christmas Eve my mother would read "The Littlest Angel".
