"Operation Binkie Takeaway" has started. I threw away all spare binkies yesterday and this morning, so there was one binkie left to get rid of. Kate woke up with it in her mouth this morning, so I waited. When she took it out of her mouth to eat cereal and dropped it on the floor, I moved it out with my foot, picked it up when Kate wasn't paying attention and threw it in the diaper pail (a place I will not be tempted to get it out and give it to her when she's crying for it!). So far, she has not thought about it or asked for it...it has been about 20 minutes.
I don't regret my choice to wait an extra day before taking away Kate's binkie, but I think it's funny that Kate had her binkie all day yesterday EXCEPT for during her doctor's appointment. She set it down in the waiting area to read a book, so I picked it up and hid it in the diaper bag. She didn't ask for it until we were leaving the doctor's office. Too funny.
Kate and Zach are now watching "Potty Power". This is my first step in potty training Kate. It wasn't too long ago and we were watching this video for Zach! I will have the songs and sayings in my head until Kate can say "I've got potty power!"

Good luck Kate and Joey!
I am sure it might be a long day...but worth it in the end:)
Good luck. I don't envy you the next couple of days.
Too bad she's not related to me. I'm often an outasight-outamind kind of person. Good luck!
Good luck with potty training and opperation binky take-away...
I don't have to worry about the binky, cause my son threw it away at 7 months, but I am not looking foreward to potty training...
I think cold turkey is a good way to get rid of binkies. I tried to do naptime or bedtime only, but it just never worked well. Soon she won't even remember she ever had one.
Is it weird that I feel a little sad for Kate? Poor, unsuspecting Kate... Ella dropped one of hers in the toilet yesterday, needless- to- say that one got thrown away and she is still asking about it. Good luck, especially tonight!
I love that video - unfortunately, it didn't work for Livi! (Feisty).
Good luck. I'm sure she will adjust. It is a little sad though.
I still have a binky in my dresser drawer, I just couldn't throw away that last one.
