Christmas Lights

We have some Christmas lights that we took down because they don't work anymore.  They have been sitting outside for months.  I just threw them away.

Snowpants

On the last day of school before February vacation, Kate came home with a very wet backside.  Her wonderful, a bit too short pink snow pants stopped protecting her against the cold, wet snow.  So, out they go!

Lidless Container

I finally got rid of an empty butter tub today that was missing a lid.  I have other containers with lids.  I don't need the lidless one anymore.

Expired

I was looking for Kate's gift card to Claire's when I came across 2 membership cards, one for the children's museum & one for the pool that had expired.  I threw them away.

Kid Clutter

I just organized our cup shelf & decided that Zach wouldn't miss the little chocolate milk bottle that he saved.  It was way in the back, forgotten.  I don't recommend simplifying a spouse's clutter without his/her permission, but I am on board with getting rid of kid clutter without permission!

Coupons

I'm not one to cut and use a lot of coupons because they expire before I remember to use them.  I went through the few coupons I have and simplified a couple that had expired and I actually used a coupon today!  Do you have expired coupons around?

Another broken backpack

I am done buying cheap backpacks.  Eleanor's zipper broke just like Kate's so this backpack is no longer useful!  Out it goes.

Car Clutter

My cup holders in between the driver & passenger seats were filled with trash, sunflower seeds, a clothespin & a Cracker Jack prize.  I put the clothespin away, threw away the rest & now I can actually put cups in my cup holders again.  :-) 

Paper Clutter

I got rid of paper clutter that was on my fridge today.  Papers that had future dates on them, I put the dates on the calendar and tossed the papers.  Papers that had information gone by on them, I tossed.  How does the outside of your fridge look?

Computer Armoir

This computer armoir has turned into a dust/clutter collector.  It has served us well in the past when we had a desktop computer, but now it just stresses me out when I think about keeping it clean.  The doors are broken & it is no longer a beautiful piece of furniture to have in our home.

Pillow Case

Kate received a beautiful, personalized pillow case for her birthday, so it is time to say goodbye to her old one.  This pillow case has been used a lot around here, starting with Zoe.  Do you hold onto items that you no longer use and will never use again because they hold memories?  Take a picture of the items and then simplify them.  Pictures take up less space.  :-)

Christmas Cards

I usually run out of our family picture Christmas cards before I am done sending out Christmas cards, so this past Christmas I bought more than I usually do.  That left me with extra cards.  Clutter.  I am keeping one of our cards to put in our memory box and throwing the rest away.  Next year, I will do a better job of giving away all of our cards!

Empty Bottle

I'm not good at remembering to put this lice prevention spray on my kids, so when I went to put it on Kate yesterday, I discovered the bottle was empty.  Well, at least my kids are remembering to use it!  I need to get a new bottle.  Lice prevention spray is not clutter, but an empty bottle of it is!

Baby Spoons

It has been 4 years since we have had a baby around here and it will be years before we have grandchildren around.  I think it is time to simplify these spoons.

Envelopes

After every birthday, my kids get their picture taken at Walmart.  I have taken the portrait envelopes that are not in storage yet

and have decluttered all but one envelope that now holds all the extra pictures.

Do I need the extra pictures?  I'm debating.  I have kept a 5x7 of each picture, but do I need the extra wallet and smaller sizes?

We love our Roku!  My favorite channels are The Blaze & BYUTV.  Since we have the Roku up and running, we don't need this booklet anymore.
